Charleston and its aristocratic families are a closed society in South Carolina, notoriously known for their generations-spanning tradition and a grand display of opulence unlike any other culture in America.
That all changes in 2014 when Southern Charm premiered, allowing viewers to see their centuries-old plantation homes and take a peek into the lives of some socialites whose every move must adhere to their family values.
But the more splendor you have, the bigger drama you get, and that’s why Southern Charm constantly treats its fans with shocking twists and turns every time. What makes the show even more engaging is the fact that the cast members try their hardest to preserve their family names, but at a social scene like theirs, there’s bound to have some scandals with so many moments shocking as they are amusing.
So, what’s happening in Season 9? Much of the ruckus in the new season is likely to come from the alleged affair between Austen and Taylor, compromising their relationships with Olivia and Shep. Meanwhile, Craig and his Summer House girlfriend Paige DeSorbo, are having romance troubles of their own.
Relationship dilemmas aside, the ninth season will also feature new friendships and potential romances with the reality cameras getting all the good stuff for fans to feast their eyes on.
The upcoming season wrapped filming earlier this year in March, with Patricia Altschul and son Whitney Sudler-Smith also confirmed to appear in Season 9 as per press release.
