School Spirits is an adult drama series that revolves around high school student Maddie Nears. Following her murder, the young girl intends to find out the mysterious circumstances around her disappearance and untimely death, and why, while still dealing with high school in the afterlife.

As she embarks on her crime-solving journey and gets closer to the truth, she discovers more secrets and lies involving people she thought she could trust. Ultimately, she realises discovering the truth is not as liberating as it seems, as she struggles to confront every deception she has uncovered.

The new series is based on the upcoming graphic novel by Nate Trinrud, Megan Trinrud, and Maria Nguyen with Nate and Megan Trinrud also serving as executive producers for the show. Oliver Goldstick joins as showrunner and executive producer as well.

In addition to Peyton List, School Spirits also stars Kristian Flores (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) as Simon Elroy, Spencer MacPherson (Degrassi: Next Class) as Xavier Baxter, Kiara Pichardo (The Society) as Nicole Herrera, and Rainbow Wedell (The Bureau of Magical Things) as Claire Zolinski.
