Duster TV series: Release date and where to watch in Australia

Duster TV series is an upcoming crime thriller from Max starring Lost actor Josh Holloway.

In J. J. Abrams’ new series, a getaway driver becomes embroiled in a dangerous game with his employer, the leader of an up-and-coming crime syndicate, and an FBI agent who wants him to help take the crime family down.

Duster TV show will be streaming in Australia from Friday, 16 May 2025, exclusively on Max. The eight-episode series is set to drop on streaming TV weekly with the finale airing on 4 July 2025. 

Streaming service Max arrives in Australia on 31 March. Foxtel subscribers can access Max (Basic with Ads) as part of their pay TV subscription. But instead of finding HBO shows on their dedicated channel, you’ll be able to access HBO content via the Max app.

Set in the backdrop of 1970s Southwest, Duster follows intrepid getaway driver Jim (Holloway). The best in the business, he’s no stranger to dealing with dangerous criminals, including Ezra (Keith David), the leader of a growing crime empire. 

When Nina (Rachel Hilson), a tenacious rookie FBI agent, persistently seeks his help to eradicate the crime network, the usually chill driver who takes pride in his work is trapped in the middle of two unstoppable forces.

In addition to Josh Holloway (Lost, Colony), Keith David (The Thing, American Fiction), and Rachel Hilson (The Good Wife, Love, Victor), the cast of Duster also includes Sydney Elisabeth as Genesis, Greg Grunberg as Abbott, Camille Guaty as Izzy, and Adriana Aluna Martinez as Luna.

The ‘70s crime thriller is created by J. J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and LaToya Morgan (Shameless). The first two episodes are written by Abrams and Morgan, and directed by Steph Green, who also serves as an executive producer. The new series is produced in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television.
