Guy Ritchie expands his ‘The Gentlemen’ universe with a spin-off of the same name. Starring Theo James, The Gentlemen TV series follows Eddie Halstead, whose massive estate he inherited from his father is discovered to be part of Mickey Pearson’s (played by Matthew McConaughey in the film) cannabis empire.

Ritchie originally pitched The Gentlemen as a series but it became the 2019 movie that went on to become a smash-hit success instead. However, Ritchie isn’t done with the idea of The Gentlemen being a TV adaptation that a show was developed a year after the original film’s release.

So, without further ado, here’s everything to know about the new crime comedy series.

What is the plot of The Gentlemen (spin-off series)?

Set in the world of The Gentlemen, the spin-off series delves into the criminal world we first saw in the 2019 film with an entirely new cast and an addictive story to boot.

It centres on Eddie Halstead (Theo James), the second son of the Duke of Halstead. Unexpectedly inheriting his father’s massive country estate, he is thrust into the criminal underworld after it is revealed that the said estate is actually part of a sizable cannabis empire.

Suddenly owning such an estate, of course, introduces him to a roster of unpleasantly cunning characters from Britain’s underworld, each one deviously intent on taking a piece of the operation. But there’s only one way to entirely get rid of them – to play the gangsters at their own game.

Richie developed the story for the sequel series alongside Matthew Read. Both are also executive producers alongside the producers of the original movie.
