Mean Girls 2024 finally drops on subscription streaming in Australia.

Tina Fey brings back the classic teen comedy Mean Girls, revamped into a musical film of the same name. Introducing a modern twist and a new set of cast, which includes Reneé Rapp as the iconic Regina George and Aussie star Angourie Rice as Cady Heron, Mean Girls 2024 will tackle high school the only way it knows how: with plenty of hilarious lines that will stand the test of time.

Here’s everything to know about the new movie and where you can watch it online.

With Paramount Pictures as distributor, the new Mean Girls movie is streaming in Australia on Paramount+. Prior to being available on paid streaming, the film was first released digitally on Apple TV, Google Play, Prime Video Store, and many others.

The new Mean Girls movie will feature the same plot and characters, only this time there’s a lot of singing. Just like the Broadway show, Cady’s voiceover will instead become songs, as well as everyone in the film who has something fetch to say.

Apart from the film being a musical with plenty of singing and dancing, there’s bound to be major changes in the new Mean Girls film, seeing that the story is set in 2024. High school is much different now (bye three-way phone calls, hello social media) and everything that comes with it, including dating, bullying, and even friendships.

While 2024’s Mean Girls will showcase a different main cast, we can expect some familiar faces returning: Tina Fey reprises her role as Ms. Norbury, who still teaches Calculus at North Shore High School, while Tim Meadows is also back as Principal Duvall.

Directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr., the new film is written by Fey, based on the Broadway musical by Jeff Richmond, Nell Benjamin, and also Fey. Producer of the original film Lorne Michaels still serves as the new musical film’s producer alongside Fey.
