★★★★★4/5
Despicable Me 4 continues the beloved franchise with a refreshing narrative that balances humour and heartfelt moments. Directed by Chris Renaud, the film explores familiar themes of family and mischief through the eyes of Gru and his new son, Gru Jr. The plot introduces a new antagonist, Maxime Le Mal, whose dynamic with Gru adds depth to the storyline. The animation remains vibrant, with the minions delivering their signature comedic flair. Voice performances are commendable, particularly Steve Carell as Gru, who captures the character's essence beautifully. While some jokes may feel repetitive for seasoned fans, the overall experience is engaging, making it a worthy addition to the series.

★★★★★3/5
Despicable Me 4 is a mixed bag that offers a few laughs but struggles to recapture the charm of its predecessors. The introduction of Gru Jr. is a fun twist, but his antics sometimes overshadow the other characters, leaving less room for the beloved family dynamics that made the earlier films so special. The villain, Maxime Le Mal, is entertaining but not as memorable as previous foes. The animation is, as always, top-notch, and there are moments of genuine warmth, especially in Gru's relationship with his daughters. However, the film occasionally feels like it's going through the motions rather than bringing something fresh. It's enjoyable for kids, but long-time fans might find it lacking.
