Emilia Fox’s Dr Nikki Alexander is back alongside her team to investigate more chilling cases. The new season will kick off with the team investigating the death of an elderly woman discovered in a cave.

This is only the beginning as they are once again entangled in more crimes that need solving ASAP, including a killer who murdering victims with a hammer, which turns out to be a conspiracy involving the local government. With the Lyell threatened by a dangerous force, Nikki and her team don’t have the luxury of time as they scramble to find answers.

As for the show’s romantic angle, fans would know that Nikki and Jack finally made their romance official in Silent Witness Season 26, after much vagueness and complications in the previous seasons.

As they embark on this new chapter of their lives, we’ll see the couple take things further as their relationship continues to grow. Nonetheless, the unsettling nature of their professional lives is certainly going to disrupt their dynamic every now and then.

We’ll continue to see familiar faces as part of the Silent Witness cast, including Emilia Fox as Nikki Alexander and David Caves as Jack Hodgson. New cast members Alastair Michael who played Velvy Schur, Aki Omoshaybi who played Gabriel Folukoya, and Rhiannon May who played Cara, who were introduced in Silent Witness Season 27, won’t be returning for Season 28.

Silent Witness Season 28 instead introduces new characters, including new boss at the Lyell, Harriet Maven (Maggie Steed), and new Crime Analyst Kit Brooks (Francesca Mills). A BBC Studios production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, Silent Witness Season 28 will feature five stories told over ten episodes.
