After the massive success of the screenlife thriller Searching comes its standalone sequel, Missing. It follows a young woman whose attempts to find her missing mother while vacationing in Colombia with her new boyfriend only generated more questions than answers.

Still utilising the screenlife format that made its predecessor unique, this twisty techno thriller combines relatable fears and fast pace mystery, keeping the audience guessing until the end.

What’s in this Guide?

The new thriller film revolves around June (Storm Reid), who scrambles to find answers when her mother Grace (Nia Long) fails to return home from her trip with her boyfriend, Kevin (Ken Leung).

Frustrated at the slow progress that the authorities are making, she decides to investigate using online tools at her disposal. While this leads her closer to the truth, June also discovers things about her mom she finds hard to believe. Digging deeper, she learns more secrets that can further endanger her mother’s life and that of her own. But family secrets being unearthed only emboldens her, completely losing any sense of fear.

As she becomes more resolved to find Grace at all costs, she must join forces with Javier (Joaquim de Almeida), a gig worker from Colombia, and FBI agent Elijah Park (Daniel Henney) to make sense of every event transpiring before her mother’s disappearance.

Missing is written and directed by Will Merrick and Nick Johnson from a story by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty, who served as producers with Natalie Qasabian. Chaganty also directed the first film, Searching, marking his feature directorial debut.
