Is Father Brown Season 12 now streaming in Australia?

Based on G. K. Chesterton’s Father Brown short stories, BBC’s period detective comedy revolves around the titular character, particularly his sleuthing exploits that frequently put him at odds with the police.

In his parishioners’ time of sorrow and confusion, Father Brown has lots of love and compassion to give to provide solace so that he also fulfills his regular parish duties. But more often than not, he finds himself solving the town’s most puzzling crimes with his remarkable intellect and desire for justice.

Fans in Australia can begin watching episodes from Father Brown Season 12 on Thursday, 1 May 2025, exclusively on BritBox.

Just like the previous Father Brown Season 11, the twelfth season consists of 10 episodes.

It would seem that there’s always a crime to solve at the fictional village of Kembleford where our protagonist Father Brown is currently assigned to perform his parish duties.

Returning for a new instalment, the long-running series has the Catholic priest figuring out more baffling mysteries involving his parishioners.

Helping him in his investigative ventures are the parish secretary, Bridgette McCarthy, and his housekeeper, Susie Jasinski. Socialite Lady Felicia Montague, as well as her driver Sid Carter, also help the priest in his explorations of mysterious crimes.

There are more compelling cases and mysteries to decipher with Season 12 on the way. In the new season, fans will see Father Brown teaming up with Sister Boniface (Lorna Watson) as per usual. Their return, however, has Father Brown embarking on a dangerous mission, again!

It’s worth noting that series 10 has seen major changes to the cast with Mrs. McCarthy being replaced by new parish secretary Isabel Devine, alongside new housekeeper Brenda Palmer.

Mark Williams returns as the lead star of the series Father Brown with most of the main cast returning to reprise their roles: Tom Chambers as Chief Inspector Sullivan, Nancy Carroll as Lady Felicia Montague, John Burton as Sidney “Sid” Carter, John Light as Hercule Flambeau, Ruby May-Martinwood as Brenda Palmer, and Claudie Blakley as Mrs. Devine.

In the prior year’s Father Brown Season 10, we saw notable cast changes with three major stars not coming back for the new series: Sorcha Cusack, Emer Kenny, and Jack Deam, who played Bridgette McCarthy, Bunty Windermere, and Inspector Mallory, respectively.
