The final chapter in the After franchise, After Everything, has been confirmed for an October release date. The After movies are based on the “After” novels by Anna Todd, which centres on Hardin and Tessa’s impassioned romantic saga. Unlike the previous films – After, After We Collided, After We Fell, and After Ever Happy – the new movie is not a book written by Todd in the series (the author’s fifth novel is the prequel titled “Before”).

The massive success of the first film paved the way for an entire franchise that that now consists of five movies with After Everything bringing a closure to Tessa and Hardin’s tumultuous romance and complex journey. Ahead of its premiere, find out how you can watch After Everything in Australia using this guide.

What’s in this Guide?

In After Everything, Hardin struggles to finish his next book, which is aggravated by his publisher pressuring him to get it done. Amidst his writer’s block, his crushing breakup with Tessa also renders him unable to focus. After learning she’s settled in Portugal, he immediately books a flight, intent on rectifying his past mistakes.

In Lisbon, Hardin must first find someone he’s wronged in the past. By mending his relationships with others, he’s hoping to change his ways once and for all. His wanting to become a better man is his way of making the ultimate commitment for the woman he loves. However, his much-awaited reconciliation with Tessa will be complicated as new faces enter the picture.

In addition to Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin reprising their roles as Tessa Young and Hardin Scott, respectively, the fifth film also introduces new cast members with Mimi Keene and Benjamin Mascolo joining the cast. Mimi plays the role of Natalie, while Benjamin portrays a character named Sebastian.

It was initially believed that the fourth movie, was the conclusion to Tessa and Hardin’s story, so imagine the fans’ delight after learning that a fifth movie was in the works, which was announced during the world premiere of After Every Happy. Though After Everything will be the final entry in Hardin and Tessa’s romance, additional instalments are currently in development, which includes a prequel and a sequel.

After Everything is directed by Castille Landon with Jennifer Gibgot and Brian Pitt as producers.

The fifth movie in the After film series had a theatrical release in the US on 13 September (courtesy of Voltage Pictures and Fathom Events), while the UK release date was on 3 October. In Australia, After Everything premiered on 6 October, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
