Set between the events of Inside Out and Inside Out 2, the four-episode series follows Joy and the rest of the Core emotions as they send Riley’s memories to Dream Productions, where they go through some level of processing, later becoming Riley’s dreams.

In charge of the all the dreaming action are acclaimed director Paula Persimmon, voiced by Paula Pell, and Xeni, voiced by Richard Ayoade. The unlikely pairing do not see eye to eye on matters of dream-making but they do share one goal: to create Riley’s next hit dream.

As per the trailer, the series will be presented mockumentary style with Amy Poehler reprising her character as Jo, as well as the Core Emotions consisting of the following cast: Liza Lapira as Disgust, Tony Hale as Fear, Lewis Black as Anger, and Phyllis Smith as Sadness.

Also featuring the voices of Maya Rudolph, Ally Maki, and Kensington Tallman, the series is written and directed by Mike Jones, produced by Jaclyn Simon, and featuring the music of Nami Melumad.
