Michael Light (played by Mark Wahlberg) is a veteran runner who fails to win during his previous race after a misstep. Determined to win this time, he convinces his sponsor to give him another chance to compete in the Adventure Racing World Championship.

He and his team, Olivia (Nathalie Emmanuel), a climber, Chik (Ali Suliman), an older racer with a knee injury, and Leo (Simu Liu), Michael’s former team member turned social media celebrity, fly to the Dominican Republic to embark on a five-day gruelling race across a mountainous jungle terrain.

As the team’s strength, endurance, and willpower are pushed to the limits, they meet an adorable, loyal companion that refuses to leave their side, a stray dog they later named “Arthur the King”.

With Arthur accompanying the racers during their most challenging days, the ever faithful dog ends up teaching them what real triumph is all about.

The movie is based on Mikael Lindnord’s memoir “Arthur – The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home”. It is directed by Simon Cellan Jones from a screenplay written by Michael Brandt.

Wahlberg himself is also produced the film alongside Tucker Tooley, Mark Canton, Courtney Solomon, Tessa Tooley, and Stephen Levinson.
