Expect out of this world adventures and shenanigans with Rick and Morty Season 8.

The iconic duo of Rick and Morty returns for an eighth season, almost two years after the Rick and Morty Season 7 finale.  To recap, the seventh season marked the first time it parted ways with co-creator Justin Roiland, who also voiced the program’s two main characters, after prior criminal charges came to light. He was replaced by Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden, who currently voice Rick and Morty, respectively.

In Season 8, it’s business as usual for the Smiths, and the grumpy but brilliant Rick Sanchez, whose penchant for wild scientific discoveries often lead him and his grandson, Morty, to go on inter-dimensional adventures. Here’s everything to know about the new season.

Rick and Morty Season 8 will be streaming in Australia from Monday, 26 May 2025, with new episodes arriving weekly. New episodes of Rick and Morty will be streaming in Australia on Max.

By extension, the adult animated series will also become available on Foxtel, since a Basic Max with Ads plan is included in all Foxtel packages.

The eponymous duo will once again be battling themselves and a whole host of new enemies as they continue their mind-bending adventures, navigating alternate realities and parallel universes altogether.

As per the trailer, Rick and Morty have new inter-dimensional exploits. This includes evading a high-speed space chase and other wacky fighting scenes with no context available as of the moment, just pure mischief.

Rick and Morty premiered in 2013 on Cartoon Network’s nighttime programming block Adult Swim. It has gained a large international following since then with Cartoon Network renewing the show through to a twelfth season.

It is co-created by Dan Harmon who also serves as an executive producer. Scott Marder is the current showrunner, a role he took on since Rick and Morty Season 5.
