What is Back to the Frontier about?
Three American families from across the country—The Lopers (Alabama), Hanna-Riggs (Texas), and Halls (Florida)—are transported back to the 1880s to experience life sans modernity.
With ten thousand acres of nature surrounding them and with no technology in sight, they are required to live on the frontier for eight weeks, where they’re “reinforcing their own shelters, raising livestock, collecting food, and rationing their supplies.”
With nothing to sidetrack them from the distractions of the modern world, every family’s immersive experience gives them the unique opportunity to appreciate one another and to better navigate their relationships.
Back to the Frontier is executive produced by Chip and Joanna Gaines.
