When Mia Ayliffe-Chung was murdered at a backpacker hostel in Queensland, it made headlines around the globe. The 20-year-old childcare graduate had set off from her home in Derbyshire a year earlier to travel the world but after a short stint in Surfers Paradise, Mia decided to extend her 417 visa for a second year. To get that extension she was required to do farm work for 88 days. She travelled to Home Hill, 100km south of Townsville, checking into a local hostel. A week later she was dead. Now, in a quest to uncover the truth, Mia’s grieving mother Rosie investigates the farm work scheme, revealing a world of sexual, financial and psychological exploitation in this harrowing and emotionally involving documentary.
