Emma Brackett (Cuoco) enjoys a suburban life with her loving husband Dave (Oyelowo) and their two kids. While their family life is seemingly wonderful, Emma harbours a dark secret:

She is actually a fierce assassin for hire wanted by the authorities and with many vicious enemies to boot.

Her secret life is inadvertently unravelled after deciding to do some role playing with her husband to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Discovering his wife’s true, shocking identity, Dave decides to stay by her side no matter what, and that includes seeing her actual “work”.

Now they have many enemies to defeat and obstacles to overcome in order to protect their family and return to their once peaceful, danger-free marriage. Ironically, this means Emma having to use her deadly skillset to eliminate every threat, hopefully one last time.

The action comedy is directed by Thomas Vincent from a script written by Seth W. Owen and Andrew Baldwin. Cuoco also serves as producer alongside Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona.

Check out the trailer for Amazon’s new film streaming on 12 January.

Starring The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco, Role Play also features the following actors:

  • David Oyelowo as Dave Brackett
  • Bill Nighy as Bob Kellerman
  • Connie Nielsen as Gwen Carver
  • Rudi Dharmalingam as Raj
  • Simon Delaney as Toby Berman

If you enjoy action thrillers with a hint of comedy, there’s plenty of similar movies you can stream instantly.

Some of these are The Family Plan, Ghosted, Violent Night, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, Bullet Train, The Retirement Plan, Freelance, and many more.
