The Curse of Oak Island Season 12: Release date and where to watch in Australia

December 18, 2024

For nearly ten years, brothers Marty and Rick Lagina and their team of treasure hunters have been digging around Oak Island as documented on History’s The Curse of Oak Island.

Located on the south shore of Nova Scotia, this tree covered island has fascinated treasure hunters for more than 200 years as many believe that one of the greatest treasures of all time can be found there. Only no one has been able to find anything.

To find the Oak Island treasure, Marty and Rick acquired the rights to much of the island to solve the mystery themselves. But how far would they be willing to go in their quest to locate the original money pit and unearth this fabled hidden treasure?

With multiple seasons airing, the brothers aren’t giving up yet, especially since they’ve also dug up valuable discoveries hidden throughout the island.

Fans of the reality series here has been wondering when The Curse of Oak Island Season 12 is coming to Australia, especially with the latest season already premiering in the US last 12 November.

Based on the previous seasons’ arrival in Australia, we can expect the twelfth season to drop 5-6 months following its original US premiere.

The new season sees the treasure-hunting gang re-assembling on Oak Island where the team discovers evidence of a tunnel in the Money Pit. Finding significant traces of silver and gold in the Money Pit area last year, it would appear they’re getting closer to the location of the possible treasure, and with the help of geoscientist Dr. Ian Spooner they’ll be able to pinpoint its exact whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Marty, Alex, and Charles find more proof connecting the Knights Templar to the Oak Island mystery in England. It’s also worth noting that Gary Drayton and his team had discovered an ancient coin back in the second season, which turned out to be a Knights Templar coin.

Could the medieval religious order have buried treasure on the island more than seven centuries ago? That’s what Marty and Rick and the rest of the team are trying to find out.

The Curse of Oak Island is narrated by Robert Clotworthy and James Thornton. Appearing in the series are Rick and Marty Lagina, brothers from Michigan who have made it their life’s duty to solve the mystery of Oak Island and discover its long-lost hidden treasure.

Joining them in their quest are Marty’s son Alex Lagina, Charles Barkhouse, and Craig Tester.
