Slow Horses, a spy thriller with Gary Oldman at the helm premiered last year to great success. Oldman plays Jackson Lamb, the unwilling leader of a group of disgraced spies deemed unfit to navigate the world of espionage. But as the agents struggle with the aftermath of their career-ending mistakes, they’re thrown into the middle of a massive crisis involving a terrorist group.

Returning for a third season, the group of spy misfits led by Lamb will once again do everything in their power, even if most still think they have none, to expose conspiracies and eliminate the sinister forces that threaten their country. Find out how and when you can watch the new episodes here.

River Cartwright (Jack Lowden) is an up-and-coming MI5 agent, that is until he botches his public training mission. As if the humiliation isn’t enough, he’s demoted and exiled to Slough House, a dumping ground department for spies considered to be failures.

As expected, their duties include endless paperworks, depriving him and his colleagues of any spy action. Being rejected in their field, they’re called the ‘Slow Horses’.

Aggravating their dull, daily tasks is their obnoxious boss, Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), who’s very much aware that agents are being dumped in his department as punishment, denying them of the opportunity to do any real spy work. Well, that only makes him grumpier.

Nonetheless, the so-called Slow Horses become a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who, while disgraced, have some advantages at hand.

Due to their unique circumstances, the Slough House can operate undetected, allowing them to investigate conspiracies that involve higher-ups, sometimes even members of MI5 itself.

In Slow Horses Season 1, after countless hours of administrative duties and hopelessness in their career’s direction, the group springs into action as they investigate a delicate hostage situation.

In Slow Horses Season 2, the Slough House had to step up their spy game after MI5 learns that sleeper agents in England have been reactivated.

In Slow Horses Season 3, the agents at Slough Houses have to deal with the death of agent Min Harper (Dustin Demri-Burns). Another conspiracy also awaits them in the third season, but this time it involves one of their own as Catherine Standish (Saskia Reeves) is abducted.

Slow Horses is adapted from Mick Herron’s series of novels and Season 3 is based on the third book in the collection, Real Tigers. It’s produced for Apple by See-Saw Films and adapted for TV by Will Smith.

Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Gail Mutrux and Douglas Urbanski also serve as executive producers.

The official trailer for the third season of Slow Horses is out. You can watch it below.

The series features an ensemble cast that includes Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Jack Lowden, all three have been starring in the show since the first season.

Since many cast members from the previous seasons have already departed the show, you can expect to see new faces in season 3, including Fantastic Beasts actress Katherine Waterston playing the role of Alison Dunn in the third season.
