Chicago P.D. Season 13 trailer
The trailer for season 13 has yet to drop. In the meantime, you can check out the promo trailer for the season 12 finale.
What is the plot of Chicago P.D.?
Throughout the seasons, Chicago P.D. has faced serious developments in its direction, retaining only some of its major characters from the first season: Sergeant Hank Voight, Officer Adam Ruzek, Officer Kim Burgess, Officer Kevin Atwater, and Detective Jay Halstead. As the series continues to grow, there are more changes that’ll both shock and sadden the fans.
In the past seasons, it’s an understatement to say that Chicago Police Department’s District 21 and its Intelligence unit has been through a lot. Chicago’s elite group of detectives may be some of the best and the fiercest, but guilt and the constant horrors brought about by tragedies will eventually take its toll.
One of the recent tragic setbacks is the death of Voight’s undercover informant, Anna, at the hands of the Intelligence team in the Chicago PD Season 9 finale. As the team’s plan to take down Javier Escano went awry, Anna became both a victim and a culprit in just a single episode.
It’s suffice to say that the aftermath of her death played a crucial role in how season 10 was delivered, especially for Voight. But the unit has to deal with more bad news with Jesse Lee Soffer’s Detective Jay Halstead exiting the series during the first half of season 10.
This is quite puzzling for fans of the long-time crime drama considering Halstead’s connection is deeply embedded across ‘One Chicago’. His character even appeared on Chicago Fire even before Chicago PD premiered on TV. He’s married to Tracy Spiridakos’ Detective Hailey Upton, who’s currently refusing to deal with her husband’s decision to move to Bolivia.
One of the show’s central themes is the romance between Adam Ruzek and Kim Burgess. After spending the past three seasons as platonic co-parents, they finally became engaged again in season 11. In the Chicago Season 12 finale, the enduring couple were finally married.
As for the season 13 plot, you’ll have to tune in when the new season arrives in Australia next week.
Chicago P.D. cast
During the initial seasons, Chicago PD starred Jason Beghe as Sergeant Henry “Hank” Voight, Jon Seda as Senior Detective Antonio Dawson, Sophia Bush as Detective Erin Lindsay, Jesse Lee Soffer as Detective Jay Halstead, Patrick John Flueger as Officer Adam Ruzek, Elias Koteas as Senior Detective Alvin Olinsky, LaRoyce Hawkins as Officer Kevin Atwater, and Marina Squerciati as Officer Kim Burgess.
Some of the Chicago PD cast members have since left the series with Bush, Seda, and Koteas exiting the show. Season 10 also marked Lee Soffer’s final season. Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt) starred as Deputy Chief Charlie Reid in season 12. Meanwhile, joining the Chicago PD Season 13 cast is Arienne Mandi as Officer Eva Imani.
