From the director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings comes an action-packed epic comedy reuniting Everything Everywhere All At Once stars Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu, new series American Born Chinese. It follows an ordinary teenager trying to juggle his school and home life. The arrival of a new foreign student on the first day of school changes all that as he becomes entangled in an immense battle between Chinese mythological gods. Now he must juggle school, home, and dark forces coming.

What’s in this Guide?

Based on Gene Luen Yang’s graphic novel of the same name, American Born Chinese revolves around Jin Wang, an average teenager juggling the pressures of high school and family. As a young teen, he badly wants to fit in and improve his high school social life. That all changes when a foreign exchange student, Wei-Chen Sun, enters his life and changes it forever by catapulting him to the world of Chinese mythology.

From wanting to get on the soccer team to having to deal with the gate between Earth and heaven opening, Jin will really come a long way from his days worrying about how to become popular. As worlds collide, the fate of humanity hangs in the balance and both Jin and Wei-Chen are key to thwarting the world’s impending doom.

American Born Chinese is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and Charlie’s Angels star Lucy Liu. Featuring a dynamic cast that includes young actors Ben Wang and Jim Liu, the action-packed kung fu series also marks the reunion of Everything Everywhere All At Once‘s lead stars.
