The new Ghostbusters Frozen Empire is now available for streaming on demand, but where to watch the new comedy fantasy in Australia?

The Ghostbusters franchise is back in 2024 with the new Ghostbusters Frozen Empire completely geared up for some next-level ghost-fighting with the Spenglers. Helping the fam who’s now entangled in ghost business big time are none other than the original ‘Ghostbusters’ with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and William Atherton reprising their roles.

This time, they’re returning to the place where it all started: the famed New York City firehouse. But when an ancient evil is inadvertently unleashed, the Ghostbusters, both old and new, must do everything in their power (and ghost-busting tech) to protect not only themselves but the entire world!

What’s in this Guide?

Following its theatrical run, the new Ghostbusters film is currently available to rent or buy on platforms like Apple TV, Google Play, Fetch, and other similar services.

Following in the footsteps of other Sony Pictures releases in Australia like No Hard Feelings, Gran Turismo, The Equalizer 3, A Man Called Otto, and many others, it’s likely to make make its subscription streaming debut on BINGE and Foxtel (including Foxtel Now).

After the events in Ghostbusters Afterlife, the Spenglers leave Oklahoma to return to where it all began – the New York City firehouse.

The original Ghostbusters, after years of arduous research and experiments, have finally built a brand-new tech to help them with their ghost-busting adventures, and the Spengler family are keen to be a part of it.

However, it looks like they’re going to need their new tech as soon as possible after an ancient artifact unleashes evil that can freeze the world to oblivion.

Now, the new Ghostbusters, which include the Spenglers and friends, have to work together to fight an adversary hellbent on destroying the planet with another ice age.

Ghostbusters Afterlife co-writer Gil Kenan now serves as the sequel’s director. He also co-wrote Frozen Empire with Jason Reitman. Additionally, Reitman is a producer alongside Jason Blumenfeld and his late father Ivan Reitman, who co-created and directed the original Ghostbuster films in 1984 and 1989.
