BBL 2024/25 Live TV Fixtures: Which Games are Free to watch or stream?

With the 2024 Cricket World Cup now over, fans of the sport will be turning their attention to domestic cricket. The Big Bash League, Australia’s premium T20 cricket league, is home to some of the world’s best cricketers and is immensely fun to watch.

BBL 2024/25 TV broadcast and streaming rights in Australia

The Big Bash League is one of the most watched, most anticipated events of the Australian summer. With such huge popularity, it’s no wonder every streaming service is vying for the rights to broadcast live cricket fixtures. Channel 7, Foxtel, and Kayo Sports are all proud holders of the BBL streaming rights for the 2024/25 season.

Foxtel and Kayo are the official BBL hubs for the upcoming season, with both providers airing every live game, including ten matches that are exclusive to their broadcast platforms.

Channel 7 has its hands on 30 regular season games, and all 4 finals. However, you won’t be able to stream BBL matches using Seven’s online digital platform 7Plus, because those rights have been granted exclusively to Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

Commencing on December 15th and culminating in a Grand Final on January 27th, a total of 44 BBL matches are set to be played over what should be a deeply exciting summer. This year’s fixtures include 40 regular season matches and 4 games making up the finals. 

Despite a contract dispute between the Seven Network and Cricket Australia, the free-to-air broadcaster ultimately secured BBL rights for the 2024/25 season and beyond. Cricket fans will be able to watch a total of 34 BBL matches live and free on Channel 7 and 7Mate. In the meantime, however, not every game this season will be available on free-to-air TV.

Alternatively, Foxtel and Kayo Sports are both showing every BBL match live, and ad-break free, for the 2024/25 season. A total of 44 games, with replays of every match for those that missed the live action. Both Foxtel and Kayo will also provide weekly BBL wrap-up shows, pre and post game analysis, and other bonus features.

Which broadcaster has the most live BBL regular season coverage in 2024/25?

Channel 7 will broadcast 30 BBL regular season matches on free-to-air TV, meaning not every game will be available for free.

For free-to-air TV viewers, midweek fixtures are your friends. That’s because on most days during the working week, you can find your favourite BBL team playing live on Channel 7.

On weekends, however, you may need a paid subscription or free trial to catch your team’s action. In other words, every Saturday game and most Friday matches are exclusive to Foxtel and Kayo Sports only.

Which BBL regular season matches aren’t available on free-to-air TV?

Cricket fans will be happy to know that 30 of the 40 matches in the 2024/25 BBL season will be available for free on Channel 7 and 7Mate. The remaining 10, however, will be exclusively on Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

Keep in mind, however, that you won’t be able to stream Big Bash matches live using Seven’s online digital platform 7Plus, because those rights have been granted exclusively to Foxtel Go, Foxtel Now, and Kayo Sports
