One new series that’s starting to gain recognition among medical drama fans is SkyMed, a Canadian show focusing on the lives of responders flying air ambulances.

With life and death scenarios happening at 20-thousand feet, the stakes are even higher for every nurse and pilot determined to save lives, which is why SkyMed is not your regular medical drama.

Created by Julie Puckrin, who was inspired by the work of her nurse sister and pilot brother-in-law, SkyMed is a brand new medical adventure that revolves around budding first responders.

Faced with urgent and harrowing emergencies, nurses and pilots navigate air ambulances in remote Northern Canada during high-stake rescue missions.

The remoteness of the location poses as a critical hurdle, making medical rescues more difficult and survival of victims unlikely, but the team’s unwavering strength and tenacity changes the course of events.

While there are triumphs and miracles, there are also devastating losses and heartbreaks, which make for profound character journeys that make SkyMed even more compelling.

  • Morgan Holmstrom as Crystal Highway
  • Praneet Akilla as Jay Chopper
  • Aason ‘Ace’ Nadjiwon as Captain Austen Bodie
  • Mercedes Morris as Lexi Martine
