What is The Australian Dream about?
The film is written by journalist Stan Grant and features former AFL player Adam Goodes. Winning the AACTA Award for best feature documentary in 2019, it examines Australian Aboriginal identity in modern Australia through Goodes’ extraordinary journey as a footballer for the Sydney Swans. It then delves into a much deeper issue exploring race and identity when his public outspokenness against racism has made a target of a sustained booing campaign from opposing fans.
