What Happens in Avengement?

From the very second you hit that play button, the action gets rolling in Avengement. Things get going when Cain Burgess (Scott Adkins), a small-time criminal, finds himself in a sticky situation. He’s been betrayed and thrown into one of the UK's roughest prisons — not ideal.

While locked up, he deals with non-stop beatings and hardship that slowly thickens his skin. It’s not long before he’s moulded into a cold-hearted killer. The brutality goes on for years, and with each passing moment, Cain gets fired up and ready to break free. During a quick visit outside prison, the lowly criminal evades his guards and makes a run for it.

As soon as Cain escapes, he bee-lines for a pub that his old crew run. He confronts ghosts from the past, including Luke Lafontaine (Craig Fairbrass) and Mark Strange (played by himself). Here’s when one of the most gory fight scenes kicks off. He’s not just here to get revenge, but answers, too.

Why We Love Avengement

Avengement isn’t a film for the faint-hearted, so squeamish people should avoid it at all costs. But, if you’re anything like us and love a bit of gore, it’s the perfect thriller movie. It will definitely get your heart racing and adrenaline flowing.

  • Every scene packs a punch (literally!): It’s got a bloody battle, bone-crunching violence, and physical intensity that’ll make you wince.
  • Gritty and unapologetic: Bone-snapping, tooth-spitting brawls that feel like they were filmed with brass knuckles.
  • Fuelled by revenge: Cain transforms from a small-town crook into a vengeful beast. It hits hard and real.
  • Unforgettable savage scenes: That pub scene is the most brutal thing you’ll ever see in an action movie.
  • It’s British: It doesn’t show the most charming side of Brits, but it’s definitely got the unapologetic attitude we love.
  • Zero filler: This movie kicks off from the very start — you’ll be glued to the screen.
  • Watch anywhere: You can stream Avengement on a bunch of platforms and devices, so you can enjoy it anyway, anytime.
