Suranne Jones (Vigil, Gentleman Jack) and Eve Best (House of the Dragon, Nurse Jackie) star as two sisters reconnecting after a family tragedy in the Maryland TV series. Having drifted apart years ago, the siblings must confront the puzzling circumstances of their mother’s death, all while wrapping their heads around the double life she had lived away on the Isle of Man, leaving their father behind.

Confirmed to make its Australian debut this month, here’s how you can watch Maryland episodes.

The new British drama originally aired on ITV and its streaming platform ITVX. Several months after its initial release in May 2023, it’s been confirmed that Maryland will grace the international screens.

After learning the news of their mother’s death, estranged sisters Becca (Jones) and Rosaline (Best) have to fly out to the Isle of Man to retrieve her body. Already burdened with grief and guilt, they’re shocked to discover about their mother, Mary, having lived a double life on the island.

Leaving their father Richard at their Manchester home, Mary created a new world for herself – Maryland. The sisters must also confront their mother’s mysterious death, aside from having to deal with the pain of losing a parent. As they stay on the island to understand why things happened the way they did, they encounter firsthand the repercussions of their mother’s deception.

Co-starring in the series, Suranne Jones also co-created Maryland with Anne-Marie O’Connor. All episodes are directed by Susan Tully.
