The Inside Out 2 movie takes place two years after the events of the first film. At 13, Riley will soon attend high school. However, entering a new phase of adolescence comes with a new emotion – Anxiety!

The newbie personified emotion, while constantly, well, anxious, is not one to take a backseat. And she’s not the only one to wreak havoc in Riley’s mind: presenting Ennui, Nostalgia, and Embarrassment.

This poses a challenge for Joy, who has created a section in Riley’s head called “Sense of Self” and is intent on filling it with only positive memories.

But with Riley’s new emotions, Anxiety in particular, attempting to take over and impacting her mindset and choices, the young girl’s “Sense of Self” will go through some serious shake-up.

The new film is directed by Kelsey Mann from a screenplay written by Meg LeFauve and Dave Holstein and produced by Pixar’s Mark Nielsen.
