What’s in this Guide?

Following the extraordinary story of one ordinary couple whose greatest obstacle to finding happiness might just be themselves. As they fall in love, Lindsay (played by Mae Whitman) and Miguel (played by Carlos Valdes) have to deal with the inner voices of their family and friends telling them “no” in all sorts of ways. Hindering their journeys that lead to self-discovery and possibly their dreams coming to fruition, they finally decide to brave New York City and any uncertainties it brings during the final days of 1999.

Miguel’s plans for the future are derailed by unexpected events, leading him to chase after a new dream in the high stakes world of investment banking. Meanwhile, after her long forgotten dream is reawakened, Lindsay decides to leave her small town life in Vermont to discover who she really is and what she wants, despite the protestations of her inner voices.

As they both navigate the changing dynamics of their relationship, Miguel chases a promising lead while Lindsay is introduced to a childhood hero, leading them both to confront new realities. With the end of the world looming and their relationship on the line, Lindsay and Miguel face tough choices that threaten to unravel everything they have worked hard for.

Tune in to see how their story unfolds in Up Here, featuring eight episodes of original songs written by Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy-winning duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez (WandaVision) and Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon). The musical series itself is written by Steven Levenson, best known for his works in tick, tick…BOOM! and Dear Evan Hansen.
