True Lies TV series preview
Helen Tasker (Ginger Gonzaga) is a language professor bored with her mundane tasks at work and at home. Her husband, Harry Tasker (Steve Howey), is a computer consultant who’s often away for business trips, frustrating her even more and believing their marriage is in a rut. Eventually, Harry’s lies, which allow him to lead an extraordinary double life, catches up with him when Helen accuses him of having an affair.
As it turns out, Harry is a skilled international spy for U.S. intelligence agency Omega Sector, which explains his frequent absences and never-ending excuses. To pacify his wife and disprove her suspicions, he brings her to Paris on one of his covert missions. But when the operation goes south, he’s forced to reveal to his wife what he really does for a living and the top secret world of espionage he’s been living in.
Helen, on the other hand, does not need much saving thanks to those workout videos and yoga classes she’s been taking. Impressing her husband’s colleagues with her formidable skills and knowledge in linguistics, Omega recruits Helen and joins Harry in his top secret assignments. With the world-saving missions they’re doing together as partners, the Taskers’ emotionally distant marriage soon enjoys a renewed bond.
The True Lies TV series is created by Matt Nix (Burn Notice) based on James Cameron’s feature film of the same name. Cameron and Nix also serve as executive producers in the TV show, alongside Anthony Hemingway, Rae Sanchini, McG, Mary Viola, and Corey Marsh.
