The story revolves around the gregarious sisters Leah and Chantrelle, whose adventures are set in motion when they board a cruise ship from Jamaica, bound for the mother country.

Inspired by the life affirming stories of Sir Lenny Henry’s mother, the series takes us on a journey of discovery and transformation.

As they arrive in London’s Notting Hill, Leah and Chantrelle find themselves amidst the rhythm of rock and roll, fabulous fashion, and the allure of Hollywood starlets.

Their older brother Aston, portrayed by Javone Prince, asks the sisters if they can bring him a potential wife back home, while Yazmin Belo takes on the role of the virtuous bible loving acquaintance Hosanna, a crucial character in their adventure.

What they thought woud be a smooth sailing journey takes a poignant turn when they settle in the Midlands, where Chantrelle becomes a new live-in nanny for Mr and Mrs Wantage.

As they navigate their new life in Britain, shocking truths and life-affirming drama unfold, all while they continue to cherish their Jamaican roots.

Based on the life affirming stories of sir Lenny Henry’s mother, follow three women in their quest for new beginnings in Britain.
