The Bear Season 3: TV release date and where to watch in Australia

Published On

June 7, 2024

The Bear Season 3 will drop with all episodes this June, letting Australian fans savour the show’s intense culinary drama in one go.

After his decade-long stint in the comedy-drama “Shameless”, Jeremy Allen White returns to television as young fine dining chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in The Bear.

Mostly 30 minutes long in every episode (easily bingeable), the breakout series is relentless with its intense, accelerated pacing, bringing visceral tension and gratification both at the same time. For fans of engrossing drama, these feelings are what characterise good TV.

Returning for new episodes after winning Emmy and Golden Globe awards this year, here’s everything you need about The Bear Season 3 and how to watch instantly online.

The acclaimed comedy drama, winner of 2024 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, was created for FX on Hulu. In Australia, you can stream FX content exclusively on Disney Plus, including The Bear Season 3.

In addition to FX programs and Hulu originals, Disney Plus also streams shows from Star Wars, Marvel, National Geographic, Disney, and Pixar. Meanwhile, you can find most of Disney+’s adult content via Star.

The Bear follows Carmy, a young chef from the fine dining world who’s come home to Chicago to take over the family sandwich shop, The Original Beef of Chicagoland, after his brother’s tragic death. Striving to bring changes to both the shop and himself, he discovers the soul crushing realities of small business ownership.

Already struggling to keep the family’s sandwich shop afloat, not to mention the difficulty in fighting his own demons after his brother’s suicide, Carmy must also deal with his kitchen crew who always disagrees with him. Strong-willed and uncooperative at first, the crew ultimately reveals itself as his chosen family.

In The Bear Season 2, Carmy’s family’s sandwich shop, the Original Beef of Chicagoland (aka the Beef), was shut down. Twelve weeks after that, Carmy’s dream of opening a fine dining place came true when “The Bear” finally started operating. But giving way to their new venture entailed transformational journeys for the entire crew as they take on more challenges.

The team also learned the hard way how opening a new restaurant was capable of testing their limits. From the outrageous bureaucracy of obtaining permits and contractors to the beauty and creative agony of deciding on a menu, the insanity of the second season had the entire staff bonding over their shared goals, dilemmas, and protests!

In The Bear Season 3, the new restaurant has a lot more challenges to face, from food critics to Carmy’s non-negotiable demands as he continues to strive for perfection. While we saw The Bear up and running in the second season finale, there’s still a long way to go for Carmy, Sydney, Richie, and the rest of the team to transform their fine dining establishment a success.

The constant disagreements on how to run things and the brutal nature of the business itself will keep The Bear’s kitchen even more drama-packed this season.
