How to watch Platonic TV series in Australia

Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen, who starred in the smash-hit comedy Neighbors, reunite in Platonic, an Apple TV+ original comedy series that follows the story of two former best friends approaching midlife. The new show is co-created by Vinny Thomas and directed and executive produced by Conor Welch.

Other members of the cast include Alisha Wainwright and Janet Varney, while Luke Macfarlane plays Charlie. Platonic is co-written by Emily Kimball and executive produced by Carla Gallo and Nick Stoller, who previously worked on the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, while lead stars Rogen and Byrne serve as executive producers.

Platonic showcases the brilliant chemistry of Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, who play the roles of former best friends. As the story unfolds, the viewers witness the reconnection of the duo’s friendship after a long rift.

The platonic pair, now approaching midlife, rekindles their friendship with disastrous results no one saw coming. Their relationship, as one character in the show calls it, becomes destructive, disrupting their lives in a fun, crazy, hilarious way.

The show’s clever writing and humour portray the everyday struggles of friendship and the complexities of growing older. As the characters navigate their lives, which continue to be a big mystery even in midlife, they encounter the wildest scenarios they never thought they’d still have the opportunity, or the time, to experience.

Platonic is Rogen’s first series with Apple TV+. It will be followed by another upcoming untitled comedy series, which he’ll write, direct and executive produce with Evan Goldberg. Byrne, on the other hand, is the star of the Apple TV+ series, Physical, set to return for a third season this year.
