What is I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! about?

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Australia follows a group of well-known celebs as they live together out of their comfort zone in a campsite located in a jungle and isolated from the outside world. The goal is to compete for $100,000 to be donated to a charity of the winner’s choosing.

The show is known for its challenging Bushtucker Trials, which test the celeb contestants’ physical and mental abilities, often involving local wildlife. The contestants compete for food and luxuries for the camp, with each star they earn representing a meal for their campmates.

The Sunday Slam, introduced in season 5, sees the celebrities completing a gigantic obstacle course which sometimes involves competing head to head against another contestant. The Superhero Sundays challenge in season 6, meanwhile, involved a group of celebrities participating in superhero-themed trials.

In addition to these challenges, the show also features Celebrity Chest Challenges where contestants compete to win luxuries for their camp. However, to win the prize, the celebs must answer a question correctly. If they fail, a joke prize is awarded instead. The Secret Mission is another challenge where some celebrities have to complete a task without alerting the other contestants.

The Mystery Box is also a popular feature of the show, where a box is delivered to the campsite containing a surprise gift for the celebrity contestants. Making it even more exciting, Season 5 introduced Immunity Challenges for the first time ever, where the celeb that won the challenge couldn’t be voted out of the jungle by the public.

Each week, one or more contestants are evicted from the jungle, based on viewer votes. Additionally, if the contestants become overwhelmed by their situation, they can leave the series by saying the phrase “I’m a celebrity…get me out of here!”.

In the new season of I’m a Celebrity Australia, we’ll be introduced to a new host and a new group of celebrity participants, each vying to be the King or Queen of the Jungle. Set in the harsh South African wilderness, TV stars, athletes comedians, and more Aussie celebs are set to showcase their grit, skills and resilience as they overcome every daunting challenge presented upon them.
