Home and Away plot
In the beginning, Home and Away focused on the Fletcher family, Tom (Roger Oakley) and Pippa (Vanessa Downing), and their five foster children – Frank Morgan (Alex Papps), Carly Morris (Sharyn Hodgson), Lynn Davenport (Helena Bozich), Steven Matheson (Adam Willits) and Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie) – who relocated from the city and moved into the Summer Bay House.
Starting anew at their foster home, they worked at the caravan park while adapting to their new lives. The Fletcher family later took in a sixth foster child, Bobby Simpson (Nicolle Dickson), expanding their family.
While Home and Away tends to highlight family life and issues surrounding foster children such as teenage problems, the soap opera doesn’t shy away from exploring heavier themes.
For instance, the first season of Home and Away sparked controversies for its multiple adult-themed storylines that involved teen pregnancy, rape, drug and alcohol addiction, and attempted suicide. Despite the criticisms, the TV drama continued to use similar storylines over the years.
Being on television for over three decades, Home and Away has also seen main characters come and go. Currently, Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) is the only remaining original cast member who’s still on the show, although some of the previous main cast members have returned to star in special episodes.
The 2022 season also introduced new faces including Xander and his half-sister Rose Delaney, Logan Bennett’s former girlfriend Neve Spicer, and Karen Thompson’s partner Brett Maloney, just to name a few, the show continued to deliver gripping new episodes for its 36th season with a new and returning cast.

FeaturedAfter the Home and Away 2023 season ended on a major cliffhanger, fans have been eager to learn what really happened to Remi Carter and Eden Fowler. The show’s return on 8 January confirmed their fate, but it seems like things are bound to get more dangerously complicated even with Eden’s boyfriend Cash Newman leading a search party.
There are other questions that will hopefully get answered with the show’s new episodes, including the future of Felicity and Tane’s romance – will these two ever get back together?
After tying the knot, Leah and Justin will continue to experience challenges in their relationship. The new season also signals other major changes for the former.
Meanwhile, Dana’s arrival in Summer Bay seems to be a good thing now that she and Xander have made things official. Levi and Mac are also kicking off the new season with the promise of a new romance.
While new relationships are being forged, it’s unfortunately the opposite for Bree and Remi, who might be splitting up after everything they’ve gone through – that is if Remi survives his current ordeal.

Joshua Hewson also appears as new boy Andrew Lawrence. Meanwhile, Ziggy and Dean’s baby girl was actually played by a baby boy named Charlie.
