Another international version of the popular UK architecture series is Grand Designs New Zealand. First launching in 2015, the show finally returns for a ninth season this month, continuing its display of ambitious house building projects.
With Chris Moller leaving the show after Grand Designs NZ Season 6, fans were introduced to new host Tom Webster, who will continue hosting the series for Grand Designs New Zealand Season 9.
Grand Designs New Zealand Season 9 release date
The latest season of Grand Designs New Zealand will be streaming in Australia on Thursday, 12 June 2025 on BINGE. New episodes will also air on Foxtel via LifeStyle at 9:40 p.m. Season 9 consists of eight episodes scheduled to air weekly on streaming TV.

Grand Designs New Zealand premise
Based on the original Grand Designs format, the New Zealand Grand Designs version follows the journey of those who take on the incredible challenge of constructing their dream home. Every episode, we’re introduced to different New Zealanders as they join the show with their stories, as well as their ideas and aspirations when it comes to building their own home that is both unique and inspirational.
The process is usually taxing and progress can seem slow. Plus there’s the tricky part where they have to transform their plans into practical living spaces and also save money. Nonetheless, creative and enterprising Kiwis who want to fully experience building a bold architectural statement home welcome such an undertaking with the help of architect Chris Moller (architect Tom Webster from Season 7).
