In Criminal Minds Season 16, which is subtitled Evolution, the members of the Behavioral Analysis Unit were tasked with solving a complex case involving a home invasion team that resulted in a teenage girl being abducted and how it was connected to a serial killer network. They later discovered that they were dealing with a network of serial killers built during the pandemic. With the world back on its feet, these killers also began hunting for victims.

Criminal Minds Evolution saw the return of familiar faces with Joe Mantegna, A. J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, and Paget Brewster all reprising their roles. Josh Stewart also returned to play Will LaMontagne Jr. while Zach Gilford was cast as Elias Voit. It’s worth noting that Matthew Gray Gubler’s Dr. Spencer Reid and Daniel Henney’s Matt Simmons didn’t return for Season 16.

In Season 17, the Behavioral Analysis Unit’s members are back to uncover the mystery of Gold Star. As the puzzling conspiracy unravels, the team faces an unexpected complication when Voit is able to negotiate a deal that will place him in federal custody, getting him closer to BAU.

Find out how everything unfolds for the team with Season 17 debuting next week in Australia.
