It’s confirmed! 1923 Season 2 is coming exclusively to Paramount+ on Sunday, 23 February 2025. It’s been a two-year wait for fans who watched the Season 1 finale with so many questions left unanswered. 1923 Season 2 is also set to launch on streaming TV with eight episodes.
Where to watch 1923 Season 2 in Australia? New episodes will be available to stream on Paramount Plus, streaming weekly on the platform. 1923 was created to succeed 1883, with creator Taylor Sheridan writing the roles of Jacob and Cara specifically for Ford and Mirren, respectively.
Yellowstone, the first series in the franchise, is available on Stan instead of Paramount+ because of existing streaming rights. The series premiered in 2018 while it wasn’t until 2021 when Paramount+ was launched.

What to expect in 1923 Season 2?
In this prequel spin-off, we’re introduced to a new generation of the Dutton family as they try to get through the drought, disease, and economic catastrophe in the early twentieth century in the wild Mountain West.
In 1923’s second and final season, Jacob and Cara are back at Dutton ranch where a cruel winter threatens to diminish the family’s legacy. With new challenges and unfinished business creating insidious tension within and outside of the ranch, the indomitable couple will have to prevail over new and old threats and inner demons alike.
Spencer Dutton (Brandon Skenlar), meanwhile, fights against time to save his family in Montana. Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) also embarks on a harrowing journey in her search of Spencer, following the tragic events onboard the Rms Mauretania. With irreversible actions and complexities impacting their relationship, will these two get the chance to reclaim their love?
Series creator Taylor Sheridan also executive produced 1923 alongside David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Ben Richardson, Michael Friedman and Keith Cox.
The cast of 1923 is composed of Ford and Mirren, who originally signed on for only one season. They managed to make Season 2 happen with the original cast members returning, including Brandon Sklenar, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, Julia Schlaepher, Timothy Dalton, Jerome Flynn, Brian Geraghty, Sebastian Roché and Aminah Nieves.
As per latest 1923 news, Jennifer Carpenter has also been cast as Mamie Fossett, a U.S Deputy Marshall. Carpenter is best known for her works on TV, including Dexter and the latest sequel Dexter: New Blood.

So, how does 1923 connect to the rest of the Yellowstone universe? In a way that’s very exciting and intriguing for fans, of course, as it turns out that Yellowstone’s lead guy John Dutton (Kevin Costner) is a descendant of Jacob (Harrison Ford) and Cara (Helen Mirren), because of course he is.
Jacob is also the brother of 1883‘s James Dutton (Tim McGraw). That’s a pretty neat connection, one of the reasons why we’re hooked into this franchise that only continues to be compelling.
