What is Becoming Karl Lagerfeld about?
Before Karl Lagerfeld became the iconic figure who changed the landscape of the fashion world, he was a 38-year old unknown designer whose work mainly comprised ready-to-wear clothes. Everything changes when he meets the young and ambitious Jacques de Bascher.
Emboldened by his seduction and proving to be a potent motivating force, Lagerfeld steps up his game and takes on his friend and rival Yves Saint Laurent. What happens next is a fusion of glamour, glorious fashion breakthroughs, heated rivalries, and relentless passion.
The French series is directed by Isaure Pisani-Ferry, Jennifer Have, and Raphaëlle Bacqué. Serving as executive producers are Isabelle Degeorges, Arnaud de Crémiers, and Jérôme Salle, who also directed selected episodes.
