★★★★★3/5
Celebrity IOU is like a warm hug from your favourite celebrity, but it sometimes feels a bit too familiar. The premise is lovely-celebrities giving back to those who have shaped their lives through stunning home makeovers. Drew and Jonathan Scott are engaging hosts, but the formula can get predictable. Sure, you’ll shed a tear or two when the big reveal happens, but it often feels like you’re watching the same story played out over and over. The emotional weight is there, but it could benefit from a little more variety in the stories and renovations presented. It’s enjoyable for a casual watch, but don’t expect groundbreaking television. If you’re in the mood for something light and heartwarming, Celebrity IOU fits the bill, just don’t expect it to leave a lasting impression.
