UEFA Champions League 2021 preview
The UEFA Champions League is currently the biggest international domestic soccer tournament in the world and is broadcast live to TV audiences across six continents. The 67th edition of the competition takes place between September 2021 to May 2022. It starts with eight groups, each featuring four teams. These teams play each other twice, both home and away, between September and December. The top two teams from each group then advance to the knock out stages, starting with the Last 16. Then the Quarter Finals and Semi-Finals are played across two legs to decide who will play in the Champions League Final.
This year the final takes place at the Krestovsky Stadium in St Petersburg, Russia on May 29th. The teams that regularly make a push for Champions League glory play in one of Europe’s “top 5” leagues, the Premier League (England), the La Liga (Spain), the Bundesliga (Germany), the Serie A league (Italy) and Ligue 1 (France).
As well as their national leagues and the UEFA Champions League, top European clubs also play in their respective domestic cup competitions such as the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the Copa Del Rey, the Coupe de la France and the Coppa Italia. So if you’re a real fan of European football, there are a number of ways to see your favourite teams play week in, week out, right across a season.
