The first season finale of the TV show Loki brought about wide-scale consequences that included the formation of the multiverse. With the creation of a multiple universe comes alternate timelines, which serves as the very foundation of What If…?

In the animated series, every major event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe happens differently in ways you won’t expect, which then generates more alternate moments. For fans of MCU movies who wished things turned out differently than they did in the films, What If…? blows minds.

As the MCU’s most crucial moments take a different direction, everything is observed by a fifth dimensional being called the ‘Watcher’, voiced by Westworld actor Jeffrey Wright.

The second season, which is part of Phase 5, will continue to take viewers in its discovery of more strange worlds and introducing new heroes, following the establishment of the Guardians of the Multiverse.

What If…? is created by A. C. Bradley for Disney Plus, with episodes directed by Bryan Andrews. It’s the fourth series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Here’s a preview of the new season streaming from December 22!

The voice cast is headlined by Jeffrey Wright, who stars as the Watcher. What If…? also features a voice cast that includes some MCU stars reprising their roles.

  • Jeffrey Wright as the Watcher
  • Hayley Atwell as Captain Carter
  • Josh Keaton as Steve Rogers
  • Mick Wingert as Tony Stark
  • Chris Hemsworth as Thor
  • Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange
  • Lake Bell as Natasha Romanoff
  • Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier
  • Cate Blanchett as Hela
  • Michael Douglas as Hank Pym
  • Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster
  • Cynthia McWilliams as Gamora

There are two seasons released so far, with the latest instalment just about to premiere this December.

Complete episodes from the first season are still available on Disney Plus. There’s no news yet on What If Season 3 being developed.
