What is the plot of A Thousand Blows?
Set in the 1880s, the new period series follows Hezekiah (Malachi Kirby) and Alec (Francis Lovehall), two friends arriving in London from Jamaica. Their arrival, however, is only bound to further complicate their paths as they get entangled in the criminal underground of London’s East End.
Finding themselves navigating a harsher reality, they meet Mary Carr (Erin Doherty), the ultimate Queen of an all-female criminal gang known as the Forty Elephants. There’s also Sugar Goodson (Stephen Graham), criminal tycoon and notorious boxer, who’ll show them a thing or two about the brutality of their newfound lives.
The cast of A Thousand Blows includes Malachi Kirby as Hezekiah Moscow, Stephen Graham as Sugar Goodson, Erin Doherty as Mary Carr, Francis Lovehall as Alec Munroe, Ziggy Heath as Peggy Bettinson, Jemma Carlton as Belle Downer, and Caoilfhionn Dunne as Anne Glover.
Apart from creating the series, Knight also serves as an executive producer for A Thousand Blows alongside Graham, Tinge Krishnan, Hannah Walters, Damian Keogh, Kate Lewis, Tom Miller, Sam Myer, David Olusoga, and Lee Mason.
