What is the plot of High Potential?
The new crime drama follows single mom and LAPD cleaning lady Morgan Gillory (Olson). After a crime scene at the precinct catches Morgan’s eye, she becomes LAPD Major Crimes Unit’s new consultant, getting an official LAPD badge and everything.
Having an IQ of 160, she is considered a high potential intellectual and her unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to her newfound career in law enforcement.
She is paired with by-the-book seasoned detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), who initially doubts her investigative skills. Their collaboration eventually produces an unusual and unstoppable team tasked to decipher every case that comes their way.
Now Morgan begins her new life as consultant, which means her days consist of checking a hotel room murder scene, investigating a mysterious young girl attacked on the beach, and solving a post-wild office party murder. When she’s not analyzing crime scenes, she is a mother to three kids, Ava (Amirah J), Elliot (Matthew Lamb), and Chloe.
While hesitant to work with the police, she took the job under the condition that Selena Soto (Judy Reyes), head of the LAPD’s Major Crimes Division, helps her find her first husband, Roman, who vanished without a trace 15 years ago.

Juggling work and motherhood, Morgan navigates Ava’s dating life, tucks her other children to bed, brings her baby to a crime scene, and everything in between. Every episode of High Potential features a new case for Morgan to delve into, while also focusing on the mystery of her first husband’s disappearance.
High Potential TV show is created by Drew Goddard, who also serves as an executive producer. Lead star Kaitlin Olson is a co-producer alongside Vail Romeyn, Andrea Massaro, Myung Joh Wesner, and Casey Vandeventer.
