The story focuses on ex-NASA pilot Joseph Cooper (Matthew McConaughey). He’s left his space-travels behind to raise his family in a world that’s dying. One day, he gets a mysterious signal that takes him to a top-secret NASA base. He’s asked to leave his family and journey to a new planet — an expedition that might save Earth.
The Stakes are high. Given that his home planet is dying, it’s the only chance Joseph has to give his family a future. But, at what cost will his family survive — or even remember him?
Knowing it’s the best thing to do, Joseph accepts the mission and is joined by Dr. Amelia Brand (Anne Hathaway). Together, they do what no one has ever done before: enter a wormhole to find the planet. With time dilation, isolation, and deep emotions are all fighting against Joseph. He must do all he can to defy the odds and return to his family.
