Stan, the new Australian streaming company, and worldwide mobile telecommunications provider Vodaphone have reached a new deal that both corporations hope will bolster their customer bases.

While specific details have not been released, the deal would bring Stan TV services to Vodaphone customers at a greatly discounted or free rate. The price to Vodaphone customers would depend on what package they had with telecommunications giant.

Both companies are trying to solidify their positions with customers who are likely to stream film and television content on their mobile devices. Stan offers such new hits as the Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul as well as hundreds of other movies and TV series. US streaming heavyweight Netflix is opening its doors to Australia in March.

Inaki Berroeta, who heads Vodaphone, announced, “We’re already seeing a significant increase in customers watching video content on their mobile devices. With Stan they can get unlimited access to the content they want, when or where they want.”

Berroeta continued, “Our other content partnerships, such a Spotify and Fairfax offered on Red plans, are really appealing to customers. Stan is a great complement to these and a great fit for our brand. We’re confident our customers are going to love using the service as part of their Vodaphone plans.”
