Apple TV+ movies to watch this month

August 22, 2025

Apple’s venture into streaming TV has resulted in the production of top notch Apple Original Films, giving film buffs dozens of must-see movies, including the Academy Award Best Picture winner CODA and Academy Award-nominated feature The Tragedy of Macbeth.

Working with the biggest names in entertainment, Apple has also some of cinema’s biggest films; Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon starring Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, Ridley Scott’s Napoleon starring Joaquin Phoenix, and Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle starring Henry Cavill are just some of the titles now streaming on Apple TV+.

Apple TV+ has no third-party content, relying on its dozens of originals to entertain its subscribers. Taking the “quality over quantity” approach, the streaming service has distinguished itself as the home of major shows and films in terms of production value and the Hollywood names they collaborate with to take on their projects.

It helps that Apple offers the service free for three months (previously one year) to those with eligible Apple devices purchase, ensuring that their original productions reach more than enough audiences to spread the word that their TV and movie highlights are also a contender.

Since 2019, Apple TV Plus has released noteworthy Apple Original Films, including The Banker starring Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie, Greyhound starring Tom Hanks, Swan Song led by Mahershala Ali, and the well-liked comedy Cha Cha Real Smooth starring Dakota Johnson. Zac Efron and Russell Crowe also headline the comedy drama The Greatest Beer Run Ever.

Apple TV+ also has a number of music documentaries; Bruce Springsteen’s Letter To You, Beastie Boys Story (featuring Mike D and Ad-Rock himself), and Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry are just some to enjoy. Meanwhile, other documentaries like The Elephant Queen, Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds, and Boys State have also been commended by critics and viewers alike.
