The prospect of being promoted to the English Premier League makes the English Football League Championship one of the more keenly contested football seasons across Europe. Norwich City and Leeds United are the two teams with the best chances of gaining automatic promotion into the Premier League, but there are several teams hot on their tail and you can enjoy the action when streaming matches live using the information found in this guide to watching the EFL on Australian TV.

The EFL Championship is the best football league in England behind the Premier League, and this year represents the third edition under its current name. Each side plays 46 games during the season – with the top two teams earning automatic promotion into the EPL, while the bottom three sides get relegated to the EFL League One. There are a stack of quality sides and plenty of high class players in the EFL, meaning it’s always great viewing, particularly towards the pointy end of the season. The next few weeks will have a big say in who will finish in the top two and get promoted to the Premier League, and with the potential financial gain well into the tens of millions of pounds and possibly more there is plenty on the line. As it stands heading into the home stretch, Norwich City and Leeds United are the two leading teams on the table, but Sheffield United are sitting just behind them in third.

Looking at the main four teams in contention for promotion, Norwich City is clearly in the box seat, and not just because they’re currently on top of the table. The run home, especially the next couple of weeks, reads well for their fans, with games against QPR, Reading and Wigan Athletic, none of whom are in contention for promotion or particularly likely to be relegated. Leeds United and Sheffield United are the two sides likely to battle it out for the second promotion spot, with both teams having pretty friendly runs for the remainder of the season. Sheffield United, however, have the kinder fixture of the two, with games against lowly ranked teams either close to relegation and/or out of form. In saying that, Leeds has plenty of winnable games coming up, in particular over the next couple of rounds – they’ll play matches against Birmingham and Preston, with both sides looking very beatable, and you won’t have to miss a minute using the mobile streaming options listed here.
