The pinnacle of motor racing in Australia is the V8 Supercars Championship, and the 2019 edition offers plenty of excitement after the last round at Townsville, where Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen split the featured races on the weekend.

The championship now heads to Ipswich for the Century Batteries Ipswich Super Sprint, and you won’t miss a minute when watching live at home on your TV, or streaming the action to an eligible mobile device using the information in this guide.

The previous round‘s V8 Townsville 400, with both races of the 200km variety, were split between veterans Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen, in a skillful display by each driver and a hugely satisfying win for their respective teams as they battle for the Championship.

Heading into round nine Scott McLaughlin remains atop the Drivers Championship standings followed by Fabian Coulthard and Shane van Gisbergen. McLaughlin has been on a tear the past five rounds, and he won’t be short on confidence having won seven of the past eleven featured races.

So don’t miss a minute of this exciting 2019 V8 Supercars Championship action as there’s no telling who will provide the most spectacular footage, or which driver will greet the judge and move up in the standings when the series settles on the weekend.

V8 Supercars Drivers to Watch

Scott McLaughlin has built up a nice lead in the Championship, and his efforts at Townsville were outstanding. Scott’s been burning to win a Championship for a few years, and he is delicately poised to claim the title and knock off his arch enemy Jamie Whincup. He is a three time winner at Ipswich and will be the man to beat as he heads towards win number four.

DJR Team Penske driver Fabian Coulthard currently sits second in the Championship, and has been giving ground over the past several outings with poor showings. Coulthard admitted during the week that he and the team need to peg back the margin as the year progresses steadily towards the Endurance part of the season and the ultimate, Bathurst.

Shane van Gisbergen currently sits in third but has been inconsistent through-out the season. He did grab the top spot at Townsville in the second race of the weekend, but if he’s going to catch McLaughlin he has to up his game and put together a nice streak, a good stretch of top 3 finishes would surely help his cause.

Ipswich Super Sprint on Free to Air TV
