The Matildas had a mixed 2019, taking out the Cup of Nations with three impressive victories before suffering a disappointing early exit in the Women’s World Cup earlier this year.

The Matildas have played just two games since their World Cup exit last June, beating Chile in consecutive friendlies in November of last year. The FFA has announced that the upcoming Matildas games in April against the USA and Canada have been postponed. The reason for this is the COVID-19 coronavirus, and concerns that arenas and travel may expose players and fans to this community health concern. If any significant new details are made available, this notice will include them and the TV fixtures will be updated.

Women’s Olympics Football Coverage on Channel Seven
The Seven Network have secured the 2020 Olympics free to air broadcast rights, and will focus their coverage on the Australian team as well as other marquee match-ups. Seven’s commitment to an expanding presence in sports builds on the network’s unprecedented agreement with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to televise live coverage of the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo in 2020. This agreement also includes an option to secure exclusive coverage of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games in 2022 and the XXXIII Olympic Games in 2024.
