Valayam (2020)

Valayam presents an intriguing plot that revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a woman, leading her husband, Arvind, into a labyrinth of suspicion and desperation. Director Ramesh Kadumula crafts a narrative that is both engaging and suspenseful, though it occasionally falters under the weight of its own ambition. The performances, particularly that of the lead actor, are commendable, effectively conveying the emotional turmoil faced by a man on the brink of losing everything. However, some plot twists feel predictable, detracting from the overall tension. While the cinematography enhances the film’s suspenseful atmosphere, the pacing could benefit from tighter editing. Overall, Valayam is a solid thriller that delivers enough intrigue to keep audiences entertained, even if it doesn't fully break new ground in the genre.
